“As children, we always dreamed about space. Our eyes would see something down heart on Planet Earth but inevitably return to the stars, looking up and wondering if we would ever get there ourselves. Then, in July 1969, we did: the astronauts of Apollo 11 led us to the moon” Say the brothers and co-founders of Bovarro Watches, Ary and Bob
Now, the Moon 1969 watch, a Bovarro Swiss-made automatic timepiece, is on Kick-starter to celebrate that achievement. Designed to resemble the hatch and knob on the Apollo 11 spacecraft, this is a watch that is both unique and functional.
The watches come in 42 or 46 mm casings, in 316 L Stainless Steel or 18K Solid Gold! Watch enthusiasts will have the choice of choosing their Italian leather German Made strap colors either in Black or Brown. The watches also come in Limited Edition series from #0-500 and will have unique serial numbers engraved on the back cases. The gold watches also have gold crown and strap buckles with see through sapphire crystal back case.
Each watch is 100 meter water resistant (Gold models are 50 meter water resistant) with double domed sapphire crystal and sealed screw in crown. Inside the watches feature an ETA 2824-2 movement known for good accuracy, reliability and durability, and is used by many Swiss watch brands.
Bovarro Watches come in three variations, the Lunar, Orbit and Celestial models.
Lunar Models feature an easy to read black dial with luminescent hours dots at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions and, luminescent moon at 6 o’clock and date window at 3 o’clock.
Orbit and Celestial models come with a minimalistic index free dial. The orbit models come with larger luminescent hour dots at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions, whereas the Celestial model dials hour marks have been omitted to make it look more minimal.
Every watch comes in a high gloss piano finish black wooden box and a moon model to celebrate the 1969 Lunar Moon Landing, as well as a warranty card that covers the watches for 2 years against manufacturers defect.
Bovarro Stainless Steel Watches will retail for $1500 after production; kick-starter pre-order prices start from $599. Gold models have a future retail of $12000, and are available on kick-starter at $6153
