Megarich house-hunters take note: the most expensive home in American history is now selling for a truly insane $250 million in Bel Air, California.

The 38,000-square-foot super mansion, known as 924 Bel Air Rd., is so much more than a just an incredibly expensive home: it’s essentially a compound of over-the-top pomp and luxury that spans 12 bedrooms, 21 bathrooms and three kitchens—and those are just the basic necessities.

Also included are a bowling alley, a movie theater, an 85-foot infinity pool with a built-in bar and a “candy room” stocked with $200,000 worth of goods that are sure to please any would-be Willy Wonkas. The developer, handbag tycoon Bruce Makowsky, also left the keys to his $30 million car collection, which counts a $15-million Von Krieger 1936 Mercedes 540-K Roadster and a $2 million Pagani Huayra, and a private helicopter (There’s even a damn landing pad on the roof).

Part of the $250 million price tag includes the costs for a private staff of seven, who work at the mansion full-time catering to every rich-person whim and fancy.

Nestled within the “platinum triangle” of Beverly Hills, Holmby Hills, and Bel Air, the mega-mansion offers sweeping views over Los Angeles. Hollywood, the snow-capped San Gabriel Mountains and Malibu can be seen on a clear day (which is everyday in LA).

But all anyone will want to look at is the insanely posh pad.
